Finding a good drum teacher

How to choose a good teacher? This step should be taken very carefully. First of all, find out about the experience of the teacher. How many years he has got as a professional musician or as a teacher? Remember that a good player is not always a good teacher or vice versa. These two things are not always linked. The best would be to find a person who masters both fields, if not.... the best would be to get a good educator. Try to speak with a student who had had lessons with him. A piece of advice: don't rush! This is a decision that will mark you for all your life. Be aware that if you have good qualities and that the teacher knows how to guide you, your development will be ten times more effective then if you would study by yourself.

You're listening to my drumming and percussion playing on "The Hill" from Mike Stand's (Clash of Symbols) CD "Full Circle."
